The brief for this module is about Pearl Harbor. There is a lot of controversy around this particular piece of history which means deciphering fact and opinion will be a key role when commencing research. The brief itself sounds like an interesting topic to make an animation about - already I have ideas of scenes for the animation and the modelling. However, as I have not had any history lessons since school and my knowledge of this topic is currently limited, a lot of research will need to be done before even thinking about creating anything in 3DS Max.
New skills will definitely need to be learned in this module for the animation, so alongside the research into the actual event, reading the 3DS Max Bible and watching Youtube tutorials will be a good step to take in preparation for the animation, which I will begin alongside the research as soon as possible.
The fact that we are working in groups will probably cause some difficulties later on in the project in comparison to working alone. But as in the industry we will probably be expected at some point to work in groups on a brief, I think that it will be good practise for team building and organisational skills. As long as communication within the group is good and everyone works to the best of their ability it should be a successful project.
